iPhone 14 battery sizes: Everything you need to know

When the iPhone 14 lineup was announced last week, Apple touted that you can expect improved battery life across the board compared to the iPhone 13. Now, we have more details on the battery inside each iPhone 14 model, including the iPhone 14 Plus… which Apple says has the “best battery life ever in an iPhone.” iPhone 14 battery sizes In a Here is the watt hour capacity for each of Apple’s iPhone 14 models, compared to their iPhone 13 predecessors: • iPhone 14– 12.68 watt hours • iPhone 13 – 12.41 watt hours • iPhone 14 Plus– 16.68 watt hours • N/A • iPhone 14 Pro– 12.38 watt hours • iPhone 13 Pro: 11.97 watt hours • iPhone 14 Pro Max– 16.68 watt hours • iPhone 13 Pro Max: 16.75 watt hours The battery life of an iPhone is impacted by two primary factors: the size of the battery life and the efficiency of the processor inside the iPhone. This year, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max have switched to a new A16 Bionic process that uses a new 4nm manufacturing process. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus use the 5nm A15 Bionic, which is still incredibly efficient but less so than the A16 Bionic. Shrinking the fabrication process used for chip manufacturing generally results in a boost in efficiency. This will obviously counteract the fact that the iPhone 14 Pro Max features a negligibly smaller battery than the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Some additional statistics on the iPhone 14’s mAh battery stats have also emerged through a regulatory database in China. These capacities match u...

It instead sold a smaller variant, the iPhone 13 mini , which isn't a direct comparison for the iPhone 14 Plus. Interestingly, as we can see compared to the Don't fret just yet about this apparent downgrade, though. It's obviously only a small change in capacity, plus a phone's battery life is determined by more than just the outright size, so the more efficient ProMotion display and A16 Bionic chipset on the iPhone 14 Pro Max should offset the difference. Apple iPhone 14 Plus review: Buy it for the battery life

> > The iPhone 14 Plus, which arrives on Oct. 7 — a few weeks after the other new iPhones — is a little different. Just like the iPhone 14, the 14 Plus variant only has a mildly updated version of last year's processor, Apple's A15 Bionic. The two phones also share the same old design, with the notch on top of the display instead of the interactive SEE ALSO: But the iPhone 14 Plus is interesting purely for the virtue of being big. With a 6.7-inch display, it is exactly the same size as the iPhone 14 Pro Max and, with a starting price of $899, it's the first truly big iPhone that's launching at less than a thousand bucks. A tiny upgrade in a big body Aside from its size, the iPhone 14 Plus looks and feels familiar. On the front, you get a Retina OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate, a 2,778 x 1,284 pixel resolution, and the good ol' notch on top hiding the selfie camera and Face ID components. There's no trace of the Dynamic Island here, so forget about getting notifications inside the notch or touching it to launch an app — it's just a dull, black cutout on top of your display. On the back, you get a main 12-megapixel camera and an ultra-wide 12-megapixel camera. The telephoto camera is missing, as is the 48-megapixel sensor that you get with the 14 Pro model. The iPhone 14 Plus' cameras have, however, been mildly improved compared to last year's iPhone 13, but more on that later. Just like last year, you get two 12-megapixel cameras on the back, but there are improvement...

Apple iPhone 14 Plus Battery test

In these test results, we will break down how it fared in a variety of tests and several common use cases. Overview Key specifications: • Battery capacity: 4323 mAh • 20W charger (not included) • 6.7-inch, 1284 x 2778, 60 Hz, OLED display • Apple A15 Bionic (5 nm) • Tested ROM / RAM combination: 128 GB + 6 GB Pros • Excellent performance during a typical usage scenario, with low discharge currents • Excellent autonomy in calibrated mode, especially when streaming videos • Very good autonomy when using GPS navigation on the go • Low residual consumption of both wired and wireless chargers • Decent wireless charge efficiency • Low discharge currents overall Cons • Poor charging experience • Very low wired charge efficiency The Apple iPhone 14 Plus reached an excellent global score but stood slightly below the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The score difference with the 14 Pro Max was mainly due to slightly lower performance during our typical usage scenario, but the results remained close. The iPhone 14 Plus showed excellent performance during the typical usage scenario, with less than 2% lost per night on average. Outdoors, the performance was excellent, except when using the camera, where the autonomy was slightly below average. However, when testing in calibrated mode, the autonomy was above average across all our use cases, especially when ...

iPhone 14 battery life test shows tremendous performance for Pro models

We’ll note that the iPhone 14 Plus has the same battery size as the Pro Max, therefore it could be a great contender in these battery life tests. But the Plus doesn’t start shipping until October 7th. With that in mind, we have a comprehensive iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro battery upgrades Apple doesn’t offer battery size information during its iPhone launch events or on its website. However, battery capacities are listed in regulatory documentation. Also, teardowns disclose that information. MacRumors dug up the iPhone 14, Plus, Pro, and Pro Max battery capacities from a Chinese regulatory database: • iPhone 14: 3,279 mAh • iPhone 14 Plus: 4,325 mAh • iPhone 14 Pro: 3,200 mAh • iPhone 14 Pro Max: 4,323 mAh Here’s how they compare to the • iPhone 13 mini: 2,406 mAh • iPhone 13: 3,227 mAh • iPhone 13 Pro: 3,095 mAh • iPhone 13 Pro Max: 4,352 mAh We’re looking at battery size upgrades for two models, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro. iPhone battery capacities compared: iPhone battery life in mAh and Wh

Here we list and explain the battery capacities of every iPhone from 2007’s original iPhone to the very latest iPhone 14 series. Measuring iPhone battery life in straight hours of real-world usage (as Apple likes to do) is not an accurate metric for comparison purposes as so many use and environmental factors play a part. These are measured in either Milliamp Hours (mAh) or Watt Hours (Wh). Milliamp hours are a measure of electrical charge, while a watt-hour is equal to one watt of energy consumed for one hour of time. And it is energy consumed that matters when we’re measuring actual battery life. Learn Wh is a more accurate and consistent way to compare the total amount of energy that similar types of batteries can store.

iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max battery capacities revealed in a leaked regulatory filing

FP Staff Sep 13, 2022 17:53:17 IST As much as Apple likes to tell us that their products such as the recently launched iPhone 14 series are significantly better than the competition, rarely does the Cupertino-based tech giant uses actual numbers to back their claims. Instead, most of the comparisons that Apple draws are somewhat vague and speak in terms of percentage, without mentioning what the baseline metric is. This has been the case with Apple’s batteries as well, mainly, because historically they have had batteries with some of the smallest capacities in a smartphone. This obviously wouldn’t look good on paper when a prospective buyer compares specifications, and so, Apple never really talks about the capacities of the battery that they use in the iPhones. Instead, they will simply make claims saying iPhone 14 Plushas the greatest battery life ever in an iPhone. Not exactly a high bar to clear. Through a Chinese regulatory database, the battery capacities of each of the iPhones in the iPhone 14 series have been made public online. This listing was discovered by MacRumors. The iPhone 14 has a capacity of 3,279 mAh, whereas the iPhone 14 Plus, has a capacity of 4,325 mAh. Surprisingly, the Pro series gets batteries with marginally smaller capacities, compared to the non-Pro iPhone 14s. The iPhone 14 Pro, for example, has a capacity of 3,200mAh, whereas the iPhone 14 Pro Max tops out at 4,323 mAh. When compared to the iPhone 13 series, the iPhone 14 seriesseems to have ...
