The Department of Defence Production, Government of India, took to Twitter to share the information, writing, “Asia’s Biggest Air Show #AeroIndia2023 announced. Save the dates 13th-17th February 2023. The biennial airshow will be held at Air Force Station, Yelahanka, Bengaluru, Karnataka.” This would be Aero India’s 14th edition. With the launch of Aero India 2023, an official website announcing that year’s edition has gone live. The website, however, makes no mention of the countries participating or the exhibitors. BENGALURU: As part of Aero India 2023, the schedule of flight operations at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) will change between February 8 and 17. The participating aircraft will start arriving in Bengaluru from February 8. Passengers with scheduled flights on these days are advised to contact their respective airlines on change in flight timings, airport sources said. The event is expected to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Yelahanka's IAF base and is slated to draw lakhs of visitors, like it does every time. Domestic flight timings The air show and its practice sessions for pilots starting Wednesday at Yelahanka airbase (which is close to KIA) will result in various airlines, mainly domestic carriers, changing flight timings. Some flights could even see cancellations due to closure of both the runways. However, some passengers said airlines are yet to inform flyers who have booked tickets on the runway closure and resulting flight disruptions. This could be because Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), the operators of KIA, is yet to come out with an official statement on the closure of runways and disruption of commercial flight oper...
