Anikha Surendran, who entered showbiz as a child artist, is stepping into the next phase of her career, as she signed ‘Oh My Darling’, which will mark her first film as a leading lady. Directed by debutant Alfred D Samuel, the film went on floors on Wednesday (Aug 17), on the occasion of Chingam 1, the Malayalam New Year. Since ‘Oh My Darling’ is Anikha Surendran’s first film as a protagonist, the makers have kept the details regarding the film under the wraps. A source close to the film confirmed to ETimes that ‘Oh My Darling’ is a romantic comedy. And Anikha will be donning a refreshing role in the film. The film has an ensemble cast of actors Mukesh, Lena, Vijayaraghavan, Shyamaprasad, Johny Antony, Manju Pillai, Srikanth Murali, and Nandu. The upcoming film is scripted by Ginesh K Joy. Popular musician Shaan Rahman will be composing the music, for ‘Oh My Darling’, while Vinayak Sasikumar is in charge of the lyrics. Anikha Biography Anikha is a popular child artist associated with Malayalam cinema, who came to limelight playing the role of young and smart kid in the super hit movie – Bhaskar The Rascal (2015). She played the role of Nayanthara’s daughter in the movie. She first came to notice through her debut movie, Katha thudarunnu, where she played the role of Mamta Mohandas and Asif Ali’s daughter. A winner of Kerala State Film Awards 2013 for her award winning performance in Anchu Sundarikal, she is quite popular through TV ads too.
