eSanjeevani: eSanjeevani is India’s National Telemedicine Service and is the largest implementation of telemedicine in primary healthcare across the globe. Additionally, eSanjeevani’s Telemedicine services are important for UPSC Prelims 2023 and UPSC Mains Exam, specifically for the GS Paper 2, which covers issues related to the development and management of social sector/services relating to health, education, and human resources. The service is accessible through a mobile application or web portal, and it is designed to extend the reach of healthcare services to people living in remote or isolated areas. In 2020, eSanjeevani OPD was launched as a patient-to-doctor telemedicine service to enable people to get outpatient services in the comfort of their homes during the pandemic. The service is offered free of cost to patients, and has been widely adopted across the country.
