India Today has learnt that he is escaping the police by changing his appearance and using fake identities to stay in different places. He used different Hindu names, like Bablu, Surendra Kumar and Sandeep Kumar to throw off the police tailing him. There, police also detained Raja Khan, an aide of Guddu Muslim, who revealed that he had grown a beard to avoid detection and being captured by the police. He has now fled to Chhattisgarh after travelling to places like Meerut, Ajmer, Jhansi, Nashik and Pune.
