Introducing ‘MI Emirates’ and ‘MI Cape Town’ – ‘MI Emirates’ and ‘ MI Cape Town’– these names were chosen as they call out the specific regions from where the teams will be based. The teams, ‘ MI Emirates’ or phonetically “ MY Emirates” and ‘MY Cape Town’ respectively, are dedicated to fans across both the Emirates and Cape Town. The new entities take the iconic Mumbai Indians identity and weaves in the local influence. Veteran seamer Beuran Hendricks found a place in the MI Cape Town setup for 2.75 million rands and he is one of the established left-arm seamers in South Africa. The addition of George Linde, who can offer a lot in all the three departments for 3.9 million rands, strengthens the middle order which already boasted of match winners like Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran. Ryan Rickelton who recently made his Test debut for South Africa, was snapped up for 1 million rand, and he is expected to do the wicketkeeping duties apart from opening the batting.
