Since the introduction of the National Educational Educational Policy, the Government has been focusing on the intellectual development of students to build responsible citizens who can actively participate in community development. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced plans to upgrade 14500 schools with the new central government-sponsored scheme known as PM SHRI ( Schools for Rising India ) Schools. Since the introduction of the National Educational Educational Policy, the Government has been focusing on the intellectual development of students to build responsible citizens who can actively participate in community development. Prime Minister PM SHRI Schools will impact the other school while influencing and inspiring the educational institutions to receive a performance-based budget allocation. The project will cost Rs 27360 Crore for the period of five years from 2022-2023 to 2026. About PM Shri School Scheme 2023 PM SHRI School is a centrally sponsored scheme by Government of India. This initiative is intended to develop more than 14500 PM SHRI Schools managed by Central government/State/UT Government/local bodies including KVS and NVS in which every student feels welcomed and cared for, where a safe and stimulating learning environment exists, where a wide range of learning experiences are offered, and where good physical infrastructure and appropriate resources conducive to learning are available to all students. It will nurture students in a way that they become engaged, productive, and contributing citizens for building an equitable, inclusive, and plural society as envisaged by the National Education Policy 2020. More than 20 lakh students are expected to be the direct beneficiaries of the scheme. The scheme will also promote understanding of various dimensions of Quality of school education and inform Policy, Practice and Implementation. The learning from these schools will be scaled up to other schools in the country. The Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched the portal for the selection of Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) schools today, November 3, 2022. The state governments will be able to apply online on the portal– pmshrischools.education.gov.in. The state governments through the portal can select the schools to be upgraded as PM SHRI schools. The schools will help showcase the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and emerge as exemplary schools. Mr Pradhan stated that it is aimed at two schools from each development block to be involved in the PM SHRI plan. The schools will be chosen based on the challenge route and methodology, and the selection process will be transparent.
