Tax Collector

Property Taxes The Tax Collector collects taxes on real estate and tangible personal property, as well as concurrent fees for City services such as solid waste collection and stormwater discharge. The Tax Collector does not determine the amount of the tax or the assessment. The Property Appraiser determines the value of all property in the county, approves and calculates various tax exemptions, and develops a Tax Roll that includes the legal description of the property and the mailing address of the owner. The City of Jacksonville, the Duval County School Board and other taxing authorities determine the amount of the tax. Property tax bills are mailed to owners of record in November for the current year . If you own property and do not receive a bill you are still obligated to pay the tax.
