By Roktim Rajpal: Akshay Kumar’s latest film Selfiee opened in theatres on Friday, February 24, much to the delight of fans. It has created a decent buzz among the audience as it marks the actor's first collaboration with Emraan Hashmi. Selfiee is a remake of the Prithviraj-led Malayalam movie Driving License. It revolves around the clash between a superstar and an RTO Inspector. Selfiee’s soundtrack has become a success among Akshay’s fans as it features a remake version of his cult song Main Khiladi Tu Anari. The Kudiyee Ni Teri song too has found an audience. The cast includes Diana Penty, Nushrratt Bharuccha and Mahesh Thakur. “Selfiee is getting a limited release. The buzz is good given this factor. While Akshay and Emraan are popular among the masses, this is a word-of-mouth film. The day one collection will be around Rs 6 crore. Then, it should pick up over the weekend,” exhibitor Akshaye Rathi told India Today.in Meanwhile, here is a look at the box office performances of Akshay Kumar’s last five films. Ram Setu (2022) Samrat Prithviraj (2022) Samrat Prithviraj was perceived to be a potential game-changer for Akshay Kumar as it was his first historical drama. Things, however, didn't work out. Samrat Prithviraj collected just Rs 10.70 crore on the first day and received underwhelming reviews. It failed to show much growth over its first weekend. Samrat Prithviraj collected merely Rs 68 crore during its run.
