Has anyone resized 7mm Rem Mag brass into 257 Wby Mag AND fired it successfully and accurately? I am ordering a Vanguard S2 in 257 Wby and will be loading my own rounds (unless Father's Day brings me a lot of Norna-loaded ammo). I know the resizing is possible -- I just did it, but is it reliable? If this really works, it will be much cheaper to resize 7mm mag compared to buying Nosler or Norma brass. E:I have done it with success and accuracy.Partly to save money and partly to tell which ammo went in which 257.I have 3 -257s now and had hoped to get some Nosler brass for the same reason.I dont have a 7mm so no problems there.I used new 7mm brass and just full length resized to 257.If you are going to try used 7mm brass(I would stick with new) I hear it works better if you full length resize in 7mm and then take it down to 257.I load hot and the only problem I ran into is that it does not have the case capacity of 257 brass with one of the powders I was using,a different powder I was using would have worked though but I didnt have the accuracy with it.Close though,I didnt want to risk a compacted load and dont think it would have hurt but I didnt want to take any chances.I dont have my book before me but maybe 50 fps less in a 24 inch barrel if memory serves.Accuracy was about as good as these old eyes and shaky body ever get. The only two things to watch out for are short necks (7Mag brass is a tad shorter than 257Wby brass), but that's not usually a huge problem. You jus...
